Privacy notice

Effective October 10, 2026

On Maestro, Sergio Sánchez publishes his courses in Spanish and English, and each course includes your own 1:1 Maestro. This notice explains what we keep when you create an account, buy a course and study with your Maestro, who sees it, who processes it and how to delete it. Maestro is for adults 18 and over.

When you contact support

When you email us, Sergio can read your address, correspondence and attachments to help with your request. Cloudflare processes support email and stores it separately from course activity. Gmail receives a copy for manual follow-up.

Sergio may authorize an AI tool connected to his own account, such as Codex or Claude, to read identified support correspondence and help draft a reply. That provider’s data terms apply; this is separate from your Maestro’s zero-data-retention routing. Replies signed Nico identify AI assistance and require Sergio’s approval.

Support contents are kept for 180 days, with a documented extension for an unresolved case, and minimal action records for one year. A one-way address hash may remain to prevent further mail after a permanent delivery failure or spam complaint. Gmail copies and provider logs have separate retention. Write to hola@heymaestro.app to request deletion or ask about a support record. Never send passwords, login codes or full card details.

What we keep

  • Your name and email, which you use to create your account with Clerk.
  • The name you want your Maestro to call you and your preferred language.
  • The courses you buy and what you paid for each. Stripe takes the payment, so your card never reaches Maestro.
  • Which pages of a course you open, and when.
  • Your answers to a page's reflection questions, in your own words. Only you and your Maestro read them: Sergio never sees them, not even under a pseudonym, and you can clear each one from its page.
  • The questions you ask your Maestro, its answers and the page you asked from.
  • For each question, a full record of how your Maestro answered it: what it read, its reasoning, the tools it used and how long it took. The record leaves out your reflections. We keep each record for 180 days to improve your Maestro, then delete it.
  • The evidence your Maestro records about the skills you show.
  • How much you use your Maestro in each course.

What we use it for

To open the courses you buy, to let your Maestro answer from what you've already shown, to keep track of how you use your Maestro and to improve each course. Maestro never sells your data and doesn't use it to train models.

Your chart editor drafts and your light or dark theme choice stay in your browser. Clerk uses cookies to keep you signed in; Maestro uses no advertising cookies.

Course announcements

Sergio can send course updates to the verified email of learners who hold that course, in their course language. Cloudflare processes the destination address, message and delivery receipts. Each learner receives a separate message.

You can turn these emails off for each course through Course announcement preferences in the course or email footer. This does not change your course access or support replies. We do not track email opens or clicks.

Unfinished approved announcements are kept until their delivery is resolved. Other announcement content and recipient snapshots expire 180 days after their last edit or state change. Deleting your account removes your recipient and preference records and requests removal of your delivery data.

Who sees it

Sergio, the courses' teacher, sees which pages you open and reads the questions you ask your Maestro and the evidence it records under a pseudonym instead of your name or email, to improve the course. He never sees your reflections. As Maestro's administrator, he can also see your account and purchases when he needs to help you, for example with a refund.

Who processes it

These providers process your data only to run Maestro:

  • Clerk runs your account and sign-in.
  • Stripe takes course payments.
  • Cloudflare hosts Maestro's API and the database that holds everything above. Code you run in a course exercise runs on Cloudflare, in a sandbox with no internet access that only you use. Nothing in it is kept after your study session ends.
  • Vercel hosts the website and counts visits with Vercel Analytics, without personal data.
  • Vercel AI Gateway carries each question to your Maestro's model and brings the answer back. It sends what Maestro's own models read only to providers with a zero-data-retention agreement with Vercel, so those providers don't keep your questions or evidence.
  • OpenAI provides the model that answers as your Maestro. It receives your question, the page you're reading, what you've shown in the course and, when it reads them, your reflections. It also runs the tool Sergio uses to rehearse a lesson, which can read a course's learners' evidence under their pseudonyms.
  • Typesafe AI provides the model that decides, before your Maestro answers, whether it needs the page you're reading. It receives your question, the last few messages between you and your Maestro and the open page's title and headings, with zero data retention.
  • Anthropic provides Claude, the model that helps Sergio build and review his courses, both inside Maestro and from his own Claude account. It can read the evidence and questions of a course's learners under their pseudonyms. When Sergio reads them from his own Claude account or another AI tool he connects to Maestro, that service's own data terms apply instead of Maestro's zero-data-retention routing.
  • Sentry receives error reports and how long pages and requests take, set up to leave out your name, your email and what you write.
  • YouTube plays lesson videos in its privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). When a video loads, YouTube receives your IP address.
  • Google Fonts serves the site's typefaces and receives your IP address when they load.

How to delete your account

Write to hola@heymaestro.app from your account's email and we delete it. You can use the same address to ask us to show or correct your data.

Deleting your account erases the questions you asked your Maestro, its answers and their records, your evidence, the name it calls you, your language, how you use your Maestro and your access to the courses you bought. We keep only each Stripe payment's identifier with its course, so one payment can never open a course twice. Stripe keeps its own payment records.
